Description

Taupe-colored cross-stitch with aqua blue border that is 1/4" from edge. Gray/blue border 3/8" in from that. In taupe cross-stitch, the alphabet in capital letters and "m" followed by, in gray/blue cross-stitch., " N W G M Y S C W T". Following this the alphabet is repeated in navy blue cross-stitch, in small letters. Then, in gray/blue cross-stitch numbers one through nine and taupe cross-stitch "1831". Different border after every line of text: first is a royal blue inverted "v" border; second is a blue line; third is a taupe line; fourth is a cream line; fifth is gray and blue dashes; sixth is a double line of navy blue dashes.

Shane Rothe

Curatorial Associate

Shane Rothe (they/them) joined Shaker Museum in July 2023, working with independent curator Maggie Taft on an exhibition for the new museum space in Chatham. Shane is an artist as well as a curator and continues to create in the mediums of painting, sculpture, writing, and performance. Shane holds a BFA from CalArts and an MA in art history and curatorial studies from the University of Chicago.
