Description

(a) Cast iron platform with two sets of sloping cast iron legs. Legs bolted to iron beam with open cylinder on open end, upright at center, and upward sloping arm at other end. Secured to middle of upright and upward arm is an L-shaped shelf, with Hershey-kiss-shaped ridge. Above this is another L-shaped shelf with large through-hole 4 1/4" in diameter. Secured at top and bottom of arm is swinging attachment with square frame with concave sides and crossbars in x-formation. (c) is cast iron bracket with a spring attached at center.

Shane Rothe

Curatorial Associate

Shane Rothe (they/them) joined Shaker Museum in July 2023, working with independent curator Maggie Taft on an exhibition for the new museum space in Chatham. Shane is an artist as well as a curator and continues to create in the mediums of painting, sculpture, writing, and performance. Shane holds a BFA from CalArts and an MA in art history and curatorial studies from the University of Chicago.
