Biography

David Meacham, Sr., was the natural brother of Father Joseph Meacham, and one of the first converts to Shakerism. His is among the Testimonies of early Shakers describing their conversions, published in 1816. He was a trustee from 1794 to 1826, and also worked as a saddlemaker, among other occupations. 

Notes

His initials, "D.M.", were often stamped onto objects to represent the Shakers, even after his death.
