Description

Articulated doll (a) with china (porcelain) head, body is coated plaster (?) with an overall yellow coloring. Red paint is used to detail finger and toenails. Dressed in Shaker clothing: dress (b), bertha (c), petticoat (d), slip (e), pantaloons (f), socks (g,h), shoes (i,j), and bonnet (k).

Doll dressed by Sister Jennie Wells, then at the Hancock, MA Shaker community.
