Handkerchief inscribed by Eldress Harriet Bullard, Church Family, Mount Lebanon, NY, 1872
Description
Plain weave, white linens 76 epi x 100 ppi. Probably handwoven. The border design on all sides created by adding thicker threads in the warp or weft creating a raised line. Inside the raised line pattern is another pattern which consists of a line of short vertical lines and circles block printed in dark brown or black. A thin red line is drawn or stamped creating a square border.
