Description
Stiff, yellowed linen base with red and black cross-stitched border that begins approximately 3/4" from edge and is 1/4" wide. Top 5" displays cross-stitched alphabet in blue and numerals in red threads. The fourth line (numerals) is framed with black checked border 1/4" wide on top and blue/black checked border 1/4" on bottom. Below this border are (1) a black/gray/light gray horizontally striped rooster, side view, with orange eye standing on a mound (about 5 3/4" long) (b) directly to its proper left side a black/gray/light gray horizontally-striped hen, bent over, with orange eye, about 3 3/8" long. Threads are 3-ply. Likely a 20th century piece.
