A Columbia County museum in the midst of a $30 million project has named a new leader. Shaker Museum, which is building a new permanent location in downtown Chatham, has selected Claudia Gould as its new executive director. For more than a decade Gould was director of the Jewish Museum in New York City, where she oversaw a major renovation and helped grow its endowment. She left the role in 2023. “I’m honored to join an institution poised to share the Shaker ethos in a facility that will both honor and expand their legacy,” Gould said in a statement.
