SHAKER MUSEUM APPOINTS BILL KRAMER TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Shaker Museum, home to the world’s most significant collection of Shaker design and material culture, today announced that Bill Kramer, who serves as the CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, has been appointed to its Board of Trustees. Kramer joins the Shaker Board during a period of rapid growth and transformation for the institution. The museum is constructing its new state-of-the-art facility by Selldorf Architects in Chatham, NY, and recently welcomed a new Executive Director, Claudia Gould, who was formerly with the Jewish Museum in New York City.

Since July 2022, Kramer has been the CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the world’s preeminent organization devoted to cinema. In this role, he oversees a budget of $180 million and a team of over 700 in Los Angeles, New York, and London. He is responsible for all the Academy’s global operations and programs, including the Oscars®, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the 52-million-item Academy Collection, film education and preservation initiatives, services for the organization’s 11,000 global members, and the $500 million Academy100 revenue diversification campaign.
