Description

Two-door cupboard of pine and basswood. Frame and panel doors each with two basswood panels. Frames of pine with rails through-mortised into stiles. Iron butt-hinges and catches. Four interior shelves and bottom. Vertical pine tongue and groove back boards (six). Cherry knobs on doors, lathe-turned. Inside edges of door frames rounded over both inside and out. Second shelf from top has cleats nailed to top and bottom sides at front. Proper right end has a pine cleat screwed to end just above row of three holes with broken off pegs.

Shane Rothe

Curatorial Associate

Shane Rothe (they/them) joined Shaker Museum in July 2023, working with independent curator Maggie Taft on an exhibition for the new museum space in Chatham. Shane is an artist as well as a curator and continues to create in the mediums of painting, sculpture, writing, and performance. Shane holds a BFA from CalArts and an MA in art history and curatorial studies from the University of Chicago.
