Flour sifter. Sifter (a) has a tapered wooden enclosure with a lid (b). Lid has bread-board ends. Extending from the sifter is a metal crank with a turned wood handle. Inside the crank turns a wooden cylinder with light brown horsehair bristles. The tapered enclosure sits on top of, and is hinged to, a rectangular base. The base is then attached to a circular, steam-bent lid with a swallow-tail, which fits over the top of a barrel (c). Barrel has metal hoops at top and bottom and above and below the swollen middle of barrel.
