Description

Cast iron wood-burning stove consisting of a fire box bottom with integral hearth (a), a fire box cover (b), a fire box door (c) with a captured sliding draft control, and four legs (d-g) which are cast with dovetailed gibs which fit into integral dovetailed ways cast into underside of fire box bottom. Legs are scroll-shaped and top edges of fire box are rounded over. Stove has a single round 4 5/8" diameter smoke flue at back of top.

Shane Rothe

Curatorial Associate

Shane Rothe (they/them) joined Shaker Museum in July 2023, working with independent curator Maggie Taft on an exhibition for the new museum space in Chatham. Shane is an artist as well as a curator and continues to create in the mediums of painting, sculpture, writing, and performance. Shane holds a BFA from CalArts and an MA in art history and curatorial studies from the University of Chicago.
